Is your approach to marketing sustainable or is it extractive?
To make it sustainable, keep in mind the following:
- Attention is a finite resource. Only so much of it exists at any one time for any one person.
- When you deplete attention, it’s gone. You can’t get it back.
- When you waste attention it’s gone. You can’t get it back.
- Once attention has been extracted, it is no longer available for you or anyone else.
Sustainable marketing means taking responsibility for using attention in ways that are constructive rather than destructive, in ways that honor it as a resource.
